چکیده
India, with the world’s largest cattle population, is a leading producer of milk, and claims to be self-sufficient for dairy production. However, such an important component nutritional security has been reported adulterated by 68% national food safety agency. This study challenges basic claim self-sufficiency in terms milk production products. A novel model studying presented, which evaluates prevailing conditions Andaman Nicobar Islands (A&N), India. There are no comprehensive data nor studies available this region. The assessment pillars found that present population load, there annual deficit 25673.7 MT fluid A&N Islands. average herd size 1.9, about 26.9% animals rearing desi (non-descriptive) cattle, characterized low levels 3.95 L/day gene frequency 16.48% A1 allele. None samples were positive antibiotic (tetracycline aminoglycoside) residues. 4% aflatoxin residues above permitted MRL. KAP shows awareness regarding clean production, antimicrobial residues, withdrawal timings, aflatoxins, etc. poor/highly limited among farmers output may act as referral template future product-specific security. Our findings highlight limitations approach need additional data, using wider range research techniques assessing dairy. Whilst not definitive, it aims those factors considered crucial understanding contemporary controls.
